01 What this policy covers
This cookie policy belongs to the website of Variatesystems B.V. in Amsterdam. It explains what information the site stores on or reads from your device. Under the Dutch Telecommunications Act (article 11.7a), that is allowed without consent only when it is strictly necessary for a service you are using, or for technically transmitting communication. Anything else needs your prior consent. The Dutch version of this policy is legally authoritative.
How we handle the details you send us yourself is described in the privacy policy.
02 Cookies, local storage and what we use
A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way, but is not sent to the server with every request. The law treats both the same.
Our site uses exactly one item:

This item is strictly necessary: without it the banner would reappear on every page. It holds no name, email or IP address and is not shared with us or with anyone else.
03 What we do not use
- No Google Analytics or other visitor statistics.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels.
- No embedded videos or social buttons that set cookies.
- No embedded map: the OpenStreetMap link on the contact page only takes you to an external site when you click it, and that site's own policy applies from then on.
The cookie banner also lists categories such as functional, statistics and marketing. They are off by default and nothing is attached to them at the moment. Should we ever add something that needs consent, we will update this policy first and ask for your choice again.
04 The contact form
When you send the form, your details go to FormSubmit, which forwards them to us by email. Our site does not set a cookie in the process. After sending, you land on a confirmation page; what technical data FormSubmit handles while forwarding and how the transfer to the United States is covered is explained in the privacy policy, article 5.
05 How long your choice is kept
Your choice is stored for 182 days, roughly six months. It then expires and the banner shows again, so your consent stays current even if you have not visited for a while. If we change this policy in a meaningful way, the storage gets a new version name and we ask sooner.
06 Changing or deleting your choice
You can at any time and choose differently. Rejecting has no effect on using the site: every page, the prices and the form keep working.
You can also clear the storage yourself in your browser settings, usually under privacy or site data. If you remove the data for Variatesystems, the banner appears again on your next visit.
