Frequently asked questions

Short, practical answers grouped by topic. Where anything is unclear, our terms and conditions and privacy policy take precedence.

01 Booking

How do I request a session?

Fill in the contact form, call 020 846 3172 or email [email protected]. Let us know what you want to record, how many people are coming and which dates suit you. Within 2 working days you get a proposal with a date and a quote.

When is my booking confirmed?

As soon as you have accepted the quote and we have received the 30% deposit. Until then we try to keep the date open, but it is not reserved.

What is the shortest session I can book?

Recording sessions last at least 2 hours. That is often enough for a few vocal parts; for several songs a 4-hour block is usually more practical.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes, you need to be at least 16 to book a session yourself. If you are under 18, we ask for written consent from a parent or guardian.

When can I come in?

Monday to Friday 10:00–22:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00, closed on Sunday. Sessions by appointment only. Weekday evening sessions are therefore easy to arrange, for instance after work or school.

02 During the session

How much time do I need for one song?

For the vocals on a three- to four-minute song we usually allow two to four hours, depending on how many layers and harmonies you want. A well-rehearsed band can lay down the basics of several songs in one day. Our guide on preparing a vocal session has more tips.

How many musicians can play at the same time?

Up to 6 musicians can play together in the 42 m² live room. Each gets their own headphone mix, and every instrument is recorded to separate tracks.

Do I need to bring my own gear?

No need. We have 28 microphones plus all the cables and headphones. Your own instrument, amp or favourite microphone is always welcome, though.

Can I bring a friend along?

One or two people can listen in from the control room. If more want to come, let us know in advance so we can check there is enough space and calm to work.

Is an engineer present?

Yes. For vocal and voice recording the engineer is included in the hourly rate of €75, so you never have to operate anything yourself.

03 Files and delivery

What format do I get my recordings in?

You receive the individual tracks as WAV files and, if you like, a rough mix to listen to at home. We deliver via a download link or straight onto your own drive.

How long do you keep my session?

We archive your session for 12 months. During that time you can come back for overdubs or a new mix. Please always keep your own backup as well.

How many revisions does a mix include?

Every mix includes 2 revision rounds. You collect your notes per round, we work them in and send a new version. See delivering tracks for mixing for how to prepare your files.

Do you deliver masters for streaming and vinyl?

Yes. With mastering you get a separate master for each format: streaming, vinyl or CD. Our guide on mastering for streaming explains why that matters.

04 Rights and privacy

Who owns the recordings?

Your music, lyrics and performance remain yours. We do not claim copyright or neighbouring rights in your work. The exact arrangement is described in our terms and conditions.

Can you use my recording as a showcase?

Only if you give explicit permission in advance. Without your agreement, nobody outside the session gets to hear your work.

What happens to my personal data?

We use your details only for your request, scheduling and invoicing. Which data that covers and how long we keep it is explained in the privacy policy.

Does the site use tracking cookies?

No. We only store what is needed to remember your cookie choice. You can change it at any time in ; the cookie policy has the details.

05 Payment and cancellation

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes. All amounts on the site include 21% VAT. A 4-hour vocal block, for example, costs €260. The services and rates page also shows the amounts excluding VAT.

How does the deposit work?

When you confirm, you pay 30% of the quoted amount. We deduct it from the final invoice, so you never pay twice.

What are the payment terms for businesses?

Business clients such as labels and production companies pay the invoice within 14 days of the invoice date.

What does it cost to cancel or reschedule?

Cancelling or moving a session is free up to 7 days beforehand. After that we charge 50% of the booked amount. The terms and conditions contain the full rules.

Do you offer package prices?

Yes: an 8-hour band day costs €495, an EP mix of up to five tracks €950 and an album master of up to twelve tracks €540. For a tailored plan, just get in touch.
